Vicki was born the seventh child of Guy and Violette Coons on July 12, 1956. She spent the first four years of her life in Wisconsin, and then her family moved west to California. Her favorite childhood activity was swimming, and she even joined the swim team in grade school. She loved to play, explore and hang out with her friends and siblings. One of her favorite early memories was sharing her room with her big brother Guy. Another favorite memory was secretly borrowing her older sister Sue's clothes. She said that Sue was always so fashionable! As she grew into a young teen, she loved to do what her older sisters did. This included driving, and one day attempted to back her sister's car out of the garage, but she neglected to shut the driver's door. Imagine her sister's surprise when she arrived home to find the door was clean off its hinges. In the early '70s, her parents moved Vicki and her younger brother, Brian, to Guadalajara, Mexico.
